The Wild was off Wednesday, but the team didn't stay idle – recalling center Joel Eriksson Ek from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.

Eriksson Ek, 20, was assigned to the minors Nov. 21 to rebuild his confidence after contributing a goal and two assists in 20 games with the Wild, and it looked like he accomplished that objective. Through seven games with Iowa, the 20th overall pick in 2015 racked up seven points (three goals) in seven games.

This addition comes on the heels of a 5-2 loss to the Kings Tuesday at Staples Center, a result that included goals from the third and fourth lines but an inconsistent effort from the team nonetheless.

After returning to the ice Thursday for practice, the Wild's three-game road trip continues Friday in Anaheim against the Ducks.
