The Wild acquired the rights to 6-7 defenseman Fedor Gordeev from Toronto and signed him to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Gordeev was a fifth-round pick of the Maple Leafs two years ago. The Wild will give up a conditional seventh-round pick in 2020.

The 20-year-old Gordeev played in the Ontario Hockey League last season, starting with Flint before he was traded to Guelph. He had seven goals and 25 assists in 63 games. Guelph won the OHL title.

In four OHL seasons, Gordeev has 19 goals, 54 assists and 232 penalty minutes.

• Ben Boudreau, son of Wild coach Bruce Boudreau, was named head coach of the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL. The 34-year-old has coached with four different professional organizations.

Bruce Boudreau was Fort Wayne's head coach in 1993-94 and 1994-95.

Berry makes Senior Open

Edinburgh USA pro Don Berry shot a 2-under-par 70 at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury to earn an invitation to the U.S. Senior Open, which will be held June 27-30 at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.

"I've played in a lot of Senior PGA and PGA Championships, but never a U.S. Senior Open, so I'm excited and really looking forward to it," Berry said. "Now I have a really big tournament to look forward to and I can't wait to play in it."
