FYI, I'll try to toss on a fresh blog in the early-morning hours while I'm sitting at the airport waiting for my red-eye flight home.

Round 2-7 will begin soon. Currently, the Wild has six picks, including two seconds, a third and a fourth.

Also, the Wild will talk to Mikael Granlund's agent in the next week to determine if the first-round pick wants to return for the team's development camp next month. While the Wild would love the Finnish center there, Flahr said he's been back and forth to the United States so many times in the past month, the team wouldn't put pressure on him to come.

Technically, the Wild doesn't have to sign Granlund to get him to training camp, although contract talks may begin. Flahr said because the Finnish Elite League season starts so early, the likelihood of Granlund attending the Wild training camp may be slim. But perhaps an arrangement could be made to have Granlund join the team in Helsinki for part of its week there Oct. 1-8. I'd be very surprised if Granlund's at the Wild training camp though. Second round, No. 39 overall, Wild takes Kelowna RW Brett Bulmer. From Red Line: "RedLine sleeper is coming on like gangbusters." The publication calls him a lanky winger with a projectable frame is one of our mid-round sleepers with a lot of upside. Style compares to Colby Armstrong, according to Red Line. No. 56 overall, Wild takes Sweden's Johan Larsson.

So far in this round through 57 players, Tyler Pitlick (Minnesota State) went No. 31 to Edmonton, South St. Paul's Justin Faulk went No. 37 to Carolina, Cretin's Mark Alt went No. 53 to Carolina and Minnetonka's Justin Holl went No. 54 to Chicago.

-- The Wild has traded picks No. 69 and 99 to Florida for No. 59 and took left wing Jason Zucker from the US National Team. He's going to University of Denver. Zucker was the 51st rated North American skater. He was born in California and grew up in Vegas. He's the first Nevada-trained player to ever be drafted in the NHL. He was the youngest player on the U.S. team that won gold at the world junior championship. Very impressive kid. Potential goal scorer.

So the Wild essentially traded its third and fourth round picks for a third second. The Wild had four picks in the first two rounds total in the last THREE drafts. This is four in the first two rounds for the first time in franchise history.

Max Gardiner from Minnetonka went No. 74 to St. Louis, Shattuck's Jason Clark went No. 82 to the Islanders and Woodbury's Max Gaede just went No. 88 to San Jose. Joe Faust from Bloomington Jefferson just went to New Jersey at No. 114. Washington just took Bloomington Jefferson's Caleb Herbert at No. 142.

Wild selected Swedish goalie Johan Gustafsson (trust me, he has a face) with the 159th pick. He was actually here. Played in two world juniors, has been to Minnesota twice (Robb Stauber goalie school and a training camp before world juniors).

Atlanta just took Detroit Lakes' Tanner Lane No. 160. Boston took Thief River Falls' Zane Gothberg at 165th overall. Chaska's Nick Mattson just went 180 to Chicago.

The Wild just took right wing Dylen McKinlay of Chilliwack of the WHL.

Detroit with the 201st pick just took Benjamin Marshall from Mahtomedi and then Buffalo with the 203rd took St. Thomas Academy's Christian Isackson
