Wild captain Mikko Koivu was injured in the 7-minute mark of the first period tonight after taking a check from St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Sobotka in the corner of the St. Louis end.

Koivu immediately cradled his arm close to his body and skated to the bench like it was his shoulder.

It's being called an upper body injury and he's listed as questionable to return. He's not out to start the second period.

The Wild leads 1-0 to open the second on David McIntyre's first NHL goal 7:13 into the period (assists Matt Cullen and Darroll Powe). Cullen is now skating on the first line with Devin Setoguchi and Dany Heatley.

More after.
