This past weekend was the two day, Wild 104.1 "Walleye Extravaganza" tournament on Otter Tail Lake. It produced some nice catches considering weather conditions. First day leaders were Chris Roehl and Fred Sanchez with 6 fish weighing in at 17 lbs. Second day of the tournament brought in bigger fish weights with the largest being 19 lbs for six fish. But the team of Roehl and Sanchez prevailed with a two day total of 29.8 lbs and received the big check of $2000!
Fishing in the Otter Tail Lake area has been tougher than usual, considering the temperature. Wind and cold weather has been a contributing factor of a slow fishing start, with water at 48 degrees on big lakes and 50 to 55 on the smaller lakes. Weather is expected to warm up this week, so look for fishing to really turn on.
Good luck and be courteous!
