The arguing that ended with a couple's murder-suicide in St. Anthony and an adult wounded was the third incident that brought police to that home, authorities said Tuesday.

A 25-year-old man who survived the triple shooting Monday night was one of the couple's four children who were in the home when the 45-year-old woman was killed by her 52-year-old husband before he took his own life, according to police.

The others at the duplex on the corner of 39th Avenue NE. and MacAlaster Drive were a 16-year-old daughter and sons ages 19 and 23. A 29-year-old son lives elsewhere, according to police.

While authorities have yet to release the couple's names, the wife was identified Tuesday by her boss at Sunburst Transit as Lora Wright. She was a school bus driver for the company.

Seak-Kee Chew said that Wright's husband, Sam, had taken the bus keys from her Monday afternoon to prevent her from finishing her school route. Chew sent another driver with a spare key, allowing Wright to make her rounds, he said. "She was having problems at home," Chew said. "I talked to her at 4, 4:30. She said everything was fine. ... She said that if her husband wasn't going to improve, she was going to put a restraining order on him."

Chew said the killing has hit the Minneapolis business hard because it's an employee-owned company. "We are a tight-knit family. I got to know her family," he said.

Lora Wright worked for Sunburst for about two years and "was a tremendous worker, a wonderful mom," Chew added. "The schools [on her routes] really liked her."

The couple had been arguing for about an hour before the shooting began around 8:30 p.m., said St. Anthony Police Chief John Ohl.

Previous verbal conflicts at the home brought police there once last year and another time earlier this year, Ohl said.

All those who were shot were found outside the home, police said, and a weapon was recovered at the scene.

The son was not an intended target when he was shot in the leg, Ohl said. The son was expected to survive.
