Sorry, we're not looking for your type, Mr. Daltrey. We're looking for someone who's managed to prolong adolescence into his sixth decade, and is known among his male peers for his ability to accessorize:

Whereas Daltrrey would sometimes just sit there like a stoic adult who didn't confuse conspicuous displays of emotion with the ability to have a genuine response, perhaps. But they probably made the right decision. A British fellow known for emotional reserve, sharp but simple attire, and straightforward remarks - can't see how that would work with "Idol."
