Twins righthander Jose Berrios set a career record with 12 strikeouts in seven innings Sunday in a 2-0 victory over the Rangers. Here’s how the 24-year-old did it:
Struck out Profar after Choo doubled, then got Odor with runners on the corners.
Struck out Kiner-Falefa and Guzman to end the inning.
Walked a batter after striking out DeShields, then sent down Profar and Mazara.
After Beltre walked and Odor flied out, Berrios got Gallo looking and Kiner-Falefa swinging.
Struck out DeShields looking between Guzman’s popup and Choo’s line drive.
After Profar and Mazara grounded out, Berrios got Beltre swinging.
After Odor’s bunt single, Berrios struck out Gallo and got Kiner-Falefa on double play. The double play started when Berrios made an excellent off-balance stop and throw on a tricky ground ball.
