Where does the stuff go when the U of M spring cleans?

Need an antique dental chair? Slate chalkboards? Stethoscope or other lab equipment? Portable PA system? Set of 30 desks?

OK, maybe you already picked up a dental chair along with a parking lot shack at the last U of M Reuse Auction. The next sealed bid auction is June 3-5. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at 883 29th Av. SE., Mpls.

The above items, considered somewhat unusual, will be on an auction. More conventional items such as file cabinets ($10 per drawer), file accessories. multi-colored file folders and coffee makers will for priced as marked.

The U uses the ReUse Warehouse as a clearinghouse for used U property rather than sending it to the landfill. Checks and cash are accepted. Winners of the sealed auctions are usually notified within a week of the last auction day, said Chris Hruza, ReUse Program Coordinator.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020.
