About 1,500 people lined up to see former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin at the Mall of America -- substantial, but not quite enough to crack the top 10 for MOA book author appearances. Here are the top draws:

1. Actor, former pro wrestler Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, 8,000 in 2000

2. Hillary Rodham Clinton, 4,000 in 2003

3. Cookbook author Paula Deen, 3,000 in 2003

4. Mary Tyler Moore, 3,000 in 1996

5. Singer Donny Osmond, 3,000 in 2005

6. Robin McGraw, 3,000 in 2006

7. Chef Emeril Lagasse, 2,500 in 2000

8. TV personality Kathie Lee Gifford, 2,500 in 2004

9. Cookbook author Rachael Ray, 2,000 in 2003.

10. Author Stephenie Meyer, 1,800 in 2008

11. Sarah Palin and eight others have drawn 1,500.
