The Gophers open their monthlong, 26-practice training camp Friday on campus. What you need to know:
Check 'em out: Four sessions are open to the public: practices Monday, Tuesday and Aug. 14, and a scrimmage Aug. 15.
Last season rewind: The Gophers went 8-5, including 5-3 in the Big Ten and a loss to Missouri in the Citrus Bowl.
Returning starters: Offense 6, defense 7.
Key departures: RB David Cobb, TE Maxx Williams, C Tommy Olson, G Zac Epping, WR Isaac Fruechte, DT Cameron Botticelli, LB Damien Wilson, S Cedric Thompson, DB Derrick Wells.
