On Sunday, the leading edge of rain halted across the Northeast underassault of dry air from the north. Thus, little or no rain was seen beyondsouthern Pennsylvania, southeastern New York and southern New England. In much the same way, dry weather will hold its ground over the north onMonday as damp wind flow from the south and west feeds more rain clouds intothe heart of the East. Once again, rain will fall north into the southern halfof Pennsylvania, nearly all of New Jersey, Long Island and New York City aswell as southernmost New England.

There will be some soaking rain over the mid-Atlantic with amounts reaching1 and even locally 2 inches.

Contrast this with the Canadian border, where sun will shine much of the timeon Monday.
