Eden Prairie
It's a battle of the band sections for fundraiser
The Eden Prairie High School Eagle Marching Band is holding a fundraiser Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The band's hornline, which consists of woodwinds and brass, will compete against each other at carwashes in two different locations in Eden Prairie.
All proceeds will go to the Eagle Band's fundraiser, the Sharp-Dressed Band campaign, to raise money for new band uniforms.
Students who play woodwinds (flutes, saxophones and clarinets) will be washing cars at Cub Foods on Den Road. Students who play brass instruments (trumpets, baritones and tubas) will have their carwash at Walgreens on the corner of Eden Prairie Road and Hwy 5.
In addition to raising money for new uniforms, the section that raises the most money will get to be first in the food line at the annual band camp held in August. The losing section will have the privilege of waxing the band's 54-foot trailer.
