Weapon: A 19-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon and marijuana following a traffic stop at Hwy. 100 and Benton Avenue.

INDEPENDENCE

OCT. 5

License violation: A 47-year-old man came to the offices of West Hennepin Public Safety seeking assistance. It was discovered he had a revoked license and no insurance. He was cited for driving after revocation and not having insurance. His vehicle was impounded from the parking lot.

OCT. 13

Animal complaint: A 13-year-old boy had to seek safety in a tree after being chased by a barking dog in the 5000 block of Fern Drive. Officers contacted the owner, who apologized. The dog had been let out of the house without its fence collar on.

MAPLE GROVE

OCT. 9

Theft: A 2006 Mazda Tribute was stolen from the 8500 block of Forestview Lane. The keys had been left in the ignition.

Underage consumption: Officers responded to a home in the 6400 block of Monticello Lane. Eight individuals were cited for underage consumption. Parents had to come and pick up juveniles.

Animal complaint: A resident in the 6500 block of Walnut Drive reported that an animal was stuck in his attic. He was given the contact information for a trapper. It was a squirrel.

Driving complaint: Officers responded to Hwy. 7 regarding a driving complaint. Officers stopped the vehicle and the male reported he was shelling peanuts.

Suspicious vehicle: A vehicle traveling in front of a squad car pulled over to the side of the road at County Road 6 and Hwy. 12. An officer checked on the driver and he said he had pulled over to retrieve a cigarette he had dropped.

PLYMOUTH

Underage consumption: An 18-year-old Plymouth man was cited for underage consumption at a home in the 17300 block of 12th Avenue N.

Drugs: A 16-year-old boy was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and a traffic violation after he was stopped at Hwy. 55 and Xenium Lane. A passenger, a 15-year-old girl, was cited for possession of a controlled substance.

Theft: Two unlocked bicycles were stolen from the driveway of a home in the 6400 block of Upton Avenue S.

OCT. 12

Theft: Fry oil was stolen from the dumpster behind Sandy's Tavern, 6612 Penn Av. S.

SHOREWOOD

OCT. 9

Suspicious activity: Officers responded to Glencoe Road regarding a male in the woods. Officers found a male, wearing camouflage, in a tree stand. The male advised officers he was part of the deer management program and the information was in his truck.

Drugs: A 41-year-old Minnetrista man was arrested for possession of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle with expired registration after he was stopped for expired tabs at Mill Street and Lilac Drive.

Obstruction: A 34-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for obstructing the legal process and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle after he was found sleeping in his vehicle at Holiday, 19955 Hwy. 7.
