Bob Dylan tribute features two concerts

Blood On the Tracks Live, a salute to the music of Bob Dylan, will be presented in two concerts July 25 and 28 in the west metro.

On July 25, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., a concert will be presented on the Maple Grove Town Green at 7991 Main St. in Maple Grove.

On July 28, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., a concert will be presented at the Veterans Memorial Amphitheater in St. Louis Park's Wolfe Park, at 3700 Monterey Drive.

The Blood On the Tracks Live concerts are free and feature area musicians. This marks the fourth year that the event has been presented at the St. Louis Park location and the second year at Maple Grove.

"Blood On the Tracks" is a favorite Dylan album for many, and a 2001 reunion of the players from the original 1974 recording session inspired the formation of Blood On the Tracks Live.

Joining Kevin Odegard, founder of the event, the 2012 line up includes many returning veterans of past shows: Bobby Z, Matt Fink, Patty Paterson, Billy Hallquist, Gary Lopac, Stan Kipper, Chico Perez, Lonnie Knight, Scott Sansby, Paul Metsa, Dan Israel, Barry Thomas Goldberg, Gene LaFond, James Loney, Jim Steinworth, Ralph Dacut, Steve Grossman and master of ceremonies Marc Percansky.

Other artists appearing for the first time in the event are the Daisy Dillman Band, Mary Jane Alm, Kenny Krona, Aaron Ollswang, Barbara Meyer, Phil Berdahl and Marc Partridge.

The event will promote Guitars for Vets, which provides basic music instruction and instruments for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. See for more information.
