Alison Scott holiday concert is Dec. 18Alison Scott will present a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet.

A pre-concert social hour with free appetizers and a cash bar starts at 6 p.m. The concert will feature Scott's hits as well as holiday favorites.

Arts center hosts holiday gift saleThe Minnetonka Center for the Arts holiday gift sale is going on through Dec. 22.

A juried collection of handmade arts and crafts has been selected for character and value, including pottery, glass, fiber, wood, photos, paintings sculpture and jewelry. More than 120 artists are participating.

The arts center at 2240 North Shore Drive in Orono is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and until 8 p.m. on Thursdays.

The arts center also has a satellite center open at Ridgedale Mall, on the second level next to Sears, through Dec. 23. Hours are 10 a.m.to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12-6 p.m. on Sundays.

Holiday musical 'Annie' opens FridayMinnetonka Theatre's holiday musical, "Annie," will be presented on the Arts Center on 7 Main Stage Friday through Dec. 22.

Shows are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Dec. 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22. A 4 p.m. matinee is set for Dec. 17.

Theater to present 'It's a Wonderful Life'The Chaska Valley Family Theatre will present "It's a Wonderful Life," a musical based on director Frank Capra's classic movie.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Chaska High School Theater, 545 Pioneer Trail in Chaska.
