Happy Saturday - or, for those of us who had Thursday and Friday off of work, happy Third Saturday in a Row! The excitement of tourney time is so great that many college hoops fans are now calling for a 96-team tournament, which would extend the tourney fun even further. I say we take this to the logical extreme: There are 32 Division I conferences for basketball. Let's allow only conference tournament champions into a 32-team tourney. Suddenly, everybody's playing March Madness games! I'll have to take two solid weeks off! It'll be the greatest spectacle college sports has ever seen!

Of course, it'll make the regular season rather meaningless, but for me, it's not like I pay attention to any team besides the Gophers during the regular season, anyway. Tournament hoops for all!

I'm sure you have 50 reasons this is a bad idea, which is why I'd better just get on with the links:

*Don't think I've forgotten about baseball season: A Voice from Twins Territory has your update on the battles for the final roster spots.

*Commenter Brandon has your Bryce Harper Update, containing one of the funniest opening paragraphs ever.

*As far as I'm concerned, ESPN.com columnist Paul Lukas's trip to Duluth was mostly notable for a photo of Olympic curler Jeff Isaacson wearing a funny green hat and waving two beers in the air. I don't know that we ever saw Isaacson change his facial expression during the entire Olympics, so it's nice to see him cutting loose.

*And finally: Congratulations to former Wild defenseman Martin Skoula, whose wife just gave birth to the family's second son. Hockey Wilderness does not have a photo, but they do have an artist's rendering of the family.

That'll do it for me - time to get back to the hoops. Take us out of here, Improvisational Chatroulette Piano Guy!

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
