PLAYER SPEAK: QB Tom Brady

• Brady is tied with John Elway for third-most career regular-season wins as a starting quarterback (148).

• Brady went 29 of 56 for 249 yards and a touchdown Sunday. He was sacked four times and lost two fumbles.

• On Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel: "I was lucky to be able to spend four years with him, and we've been great friends ever since. ... He works his butt off, loves the game and just works so hard to put himself in the position he's in."

• On coach Mike Zimmer's defense: "He's going to play to their strengths as players. That's what makes him such a great coach. He's got a great scheme. The guys really seemed to have learned it. They haven't lost a game, including the preseason, all year."

COACH SPEAK: Bill Belichick

• Belichick, 62, is one win away from becoming the sixth NFL coach with at least 200 regular-season wins.

• On Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer: "He's done a great job defensively every place he's been, and certainly we were very challenged by him in Cincinnati last year. They played us well defensively, and we had a hard time with him. From the looks of things this year, the five games we've seen the Vikings play, they played well defensively all preseason and certainly against St. Louis on Sunday."

• On Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner:  "Norv's an excellent offensive coach. He's had great success throughout his career as a National Football League head coach and offensive coordinator. There's a lot of challenges with what he does."
