The Weather Channel meteorologist Nicholas Wiltgen was killed over the weekend after the car he was driving crashed inside an Atlanta parking garage.
According to the Weather Channel, Wiltgen, 39, was a senior digital meteorologist and had been with the station for 15 years. Police investigating the accident said Wiltgen's car was traveling at a high speed when it broke through a wall and ended up inside the neighboring W Hotel.
A second victim was reportedly struck by the car inside the W's storage facility and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Weather Company president of product and technology Cameron Clayton issued the following statement:
We have lost a treasured member of The Weather Channel family. Nick Wiltgen was at Weather for more than 15 years as a senior digital meteorologist and integral member of our content team. Millions read his work every week and were better for it. He was a dedicated, passionate member of our family and we will miss him deeply. Our heartfelt sympathy is with his family and friends.
Weather Channel meteorologist Mike Seidel and NBC's Al Roker are among the people that have taken to Twitter to express their grief.
