• In this new project to inspire volunteerism, students design their own projects, one local, one global, and report to organizer Free the Children to earn a ticket to the Oct. 8 We Day celebration at Xcel Energy Center.
• Projects will be coordinated through Minnesota schools. Students and teachers can get ideas at www.weday.com/minnesota.
• The Oct. 8 lineup is still being determined, but includes the Jonas Brothers and Mikhail Gorbachev.
