St. Paul native Gemma "The Jet" Kirby flew into the national spotlight Monday night with an appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman."
The 25-year-old, who has been projected out of a cannonball over 500 times, was the lead-off guest, making an impressive flight on the street outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre in Manhattan.
Kirby, who performs with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Baily Circus, got her start at the age of 16 wtih St. Paul's Circus Juventas.
