Jordan Roberts' 1-yard touchdown run and 2-point conversion gave the University of St. Thomas a 22-0 lead with 5 minutes, 12 seconds left before halftime and the Tommies breezed to a 38-19 NCAA Division III playoff victory over MIAC rival St. John's on Saturday in St. Paul.
Roberts finished the day with 33 rushes for 126 yards and three scores. Tommies quarterback John Gould threw for 107 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for 85 yards and a score. Sixty-two of those yards came on an early fourth-quarter touchdown run.
