Suspicious objects. The Sheriff's Department received a call from someone who thought five large pails with duct tape on Irish Avenue near Mann Lake might be drug related. A deputy determined they were pool chemical buckets and notified Public Works.

NOV. 10

Scam report. A resident in the 14000 block of Glenbrook Avenue reported receiving a phone message from someone who claimed to be from the IRS. The message said she needed to call back ASAP or face the consequences for delinquent tax fraud payments. She knew it was a scam and didn't call back.

SCANDIA

Neighbor assist. A man in the 22000 block of Kirk Avenue told authorities his son heard what he thought was a cry for help from somewhere nearby while he was out shoveling. A deputy determined it was a neighbor yelling while helping another neighbor who was stuck in their driveway.

WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

NOV. 10

Shooting complaint. Someone in the 13000 block of 30th Street reported hunters shooting into his property. The complainant said he spoke to the hunters who said they were shooting at a deer they had wounded. The complainant believed they had wounded it on his property but a deputy investigated and found no evidence that was the case.

WILLERNIE

Stolen wallet. A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Derby Lane while its owner was working. Before the owner could put a stop on his credit card it was used to buy $60 worth of lottery tickets at a Freedom Valu Center in Mahtomedi.

WOODBURY

NOV. 6

Animal complaint. An officer responded to a report of two unleashed dogs near Bailey Elementary School, 4125 Woodlane Drive, just as the school was letting out. The dog owner was advised of the applicable ordinances. She was also advised to get licenses for her dogs which she did.

Suspicious object. A large amount of plastic that a complainant thought might contain a body was reported on the side of the road in the area of Woodbury Drive and Bailey Road. An officer checked the plastic and did not find a body inside.

NOV. 9

Suspicious situation. A man and woman were reported removing an air conditioning unit from behind a building in the 7000 block of Valley Creek Plaza. An officer found the two loading what appeared to be an old air conditioning unit, placed on the ground while the roof of the building was being repaired, into their vehicle. The man said they did not have permission from the building owner to take the unit but noticed other people taking scrap from a nearby dumpster and thought it was also scrap because it had a big red X painted on it. The two were advised to leave the air conditioner on the property and obtain permission to take it.
