Suspicious activity. A group of juveniles in a vehicle were reported throwing trash in yards in the 15000 block of Afton Hills Drive. A deputy contacted the juveniles, who were apologetic. One said he had spilled soda pop on himself and that when the car was stopped to deal with it, some trash fell out. They thought they had picked up everything and were sorry for the inconvenience.
Animal complaint. A resident in the 14000 block of 117th Street reported a cat on their property that may be rabid or ill. They were advised to contact Animal Control.
Animal concern. Someone in the 7000 block of Leeward Avenue found an injured baby pheasant in their yard and asked authorities what they should do with it. They were told to contact the Warner Nature Centure.
Neighbor complaint. A resident in the 5000 block of Egg Lake Road reported his neighbor was shooting off fireworks into his yard and deck. The man told authorities the neighbor swore at him when he said something about it. A deputy spoke to the neighbor who agreed to shoot off his fireworks in a different direction.
Skier complaint. A water skier was reported skiing too close to the docks and swimmers at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve, 1515 Keats Av. The complainant said they waved at the skier with little result. A deputy contacted the skier who expressed irritation and maintained he wasn’t skiing too close or unsafely.
Music complaint. A deputy spoke with a group people who had been reported playing loud, vulgar music at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve beach, 1515 Keats Av. The group agreed to turn off their music.
Suspicious item. A Public Works employee found a firecracker device inside a water bottle in the area of Old Marine Trail and Olinda Trail. The device was disposed of.
Animal concern. Someone who returned a loose dog to a home in the 10000 block of Mayberry Trail was concerned because no one was at the home and the dog appeared dehydrated and distressed. A deputy contacted the owner.
Trespassing. A group of juveniles coming back from the Arcola High Bridge were advised by a deputy that a citation would be issued the next time they’re caught on the bridge.
Suspicious activity. A man was observed in Wal-Mart, 10240 Hudson Road, putting multiple stereo systems, a razor scooter and a home security system — more than $1,000 worth of merchandise — in a cart and pushing it around the far edges of the store. He appeared to be nervously looking for employees. Before reaching the checkout area he ditched the cart and quickly left the store.
Suspicious activity. A juvenile male was reported dancing on the corner of Pioneer Drive and Radio Drive for over 30 minutes. An officer contacted the juvenile who stated he was just listening to music and dancing. He said it was a nice day and he didn’t want to be inside his home.
Suspicious activity. Someone housesitting in Dartford Road told police that when she let the dog out the back patio door she saw two individuals jump over the fence and run from the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone suspicious.
