Suspicious activity. A vehicle was reported driving through a yard on the 4000 block of Neal Avenue. The caller realized it was their uncle and told authorities no assistance was needed.

GRANT

APRIL 8

Check light cycle. A driver contacted authorities after being stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of 75th Street and Manning Avenue for what they thought was longer than usual. The light eventually turned green. Public Works was contacted.

HUGO

APRIL 10

Suspicious activity. A juvenile was reported looking into the windows of a residence on Victor Path at 10:25 p.m. and then sitting in the driveway. The homeowner told a deputy the juvenile was her grandson and everything was fine.

MAHTOMEDI

APRIL 9

Vehicle lockout. A deputy was unable to unlock a caller's vehicle in a parking lot at Century College, 3300 Century Av. The person ended up calling a locksmith.

Stop arm violation. A school bus driver reported a vehicle driving through a stop arm in the area of Mahtomedi Avenue and Quail Street.

OAKDALE

APRIL 5

Assist other department. An officer located and stopped a driver going northbound on Interstate 694 in the southbound lane at 10th Street. The driver appeared confused but no accidents occurred. The scene was turned over to the State Patrol.

APRIL 6

Alarm call. Police responded to an audible alarm on the 1600 block of Geneva Avenue. The homeowner explained that the system had been installed the day before and he was trying to figure it out. He was advised of the city's alarm response policy.

Disturbance. A woman was punched by another woman over a dispute about a pair of shoes. Neither party would provide statements or wanted to press criminal charges.

APRIL 7

Suspicious activity. An officer saw a man walking in the 1500 block of Granada Avenue carrying a large television at 12.45 a.m. The man said he was carrying the TV home from his grandmother's. The grandmother and an uncle were contacted and both had no knowledge of the TV. The man was taken home, where his mother also knew nothing about the TV. He was released to his mother and the TV was held in the police property room awaiting proof of ownership.

Parking complaint. A vehicle parked on the 600 block of Grafton Avenue was measured at 29 inches from the curb. A citation was issued for not being within 12 inches of the curb.

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP

APRIL 11

Slander. The owner of a business contacted authorities about unflattering messages posted on the Internet about the company. The owner was advised that since there were no threats issued it was a civil matter and to contact their Internet provider to have the comments removed.

WOODBURY

APRIL 10

Suspicious activity. An officer spoke with a woman at Wal-Mart, 10240 Hudson Rd., after she spent 2½ hours in the store filling up her cart with clothing, concealing merchandise and removing items from their packaging. She ended up buying a few snacks and didn't steal anything but acknowledged that her actions were suspicious.
