FEB. 1

Suspicious activity. A resident in the 9000 block of Knollwood Drive returned home from out of town at 8 a.m. to find a vehicle with several juveniles stuck in the snow in his driveway. Two of the juveniles were cited for minor consumption. One of the vehicle's occupants was arrested on a Dakota County warrant for 5th-degree assault.

Compliment. The Sheriff's Department received a call from someone in the 10 block of Garden Glen who wanted to pass along a "thank you" to the department. The caller said the male deputies are really nice guys and the females are nice, too.

JAN. 29

Scam report. Someone called a man in the 15000 block of 122nd Street claiming to be his grandson and in trouble and in need of money. The man knew it was a scam because he has no grandson by the name given.

OAKDALE

JAN. 23

Suspicious activity. An arrow was reported stuck in a tree in the 6400 block of Kings Drive. A resident at the address, who didn't want an officer to come on his property, admitted to shooting the arrow three years ago. He said he didn't know it was illegal to use a bow and arrow on private property. He was verbally warned of the city ordinance prohibiting it.

JAN. 25

Check welfare. An officer was dispatched to Burger King, 7051 10th St., to check on a report of a 14-year-old who had taken the wrong bus and was lost. The juvenile told the officer he took the wrong bus on his way to a birthday party. The host of the party was contacted and agreed to to pick him up.

JAN. 29

Fraud. A resident in the 1600 block of Helena Road told police he received a phone call from a woman who said she was with a company who had overcharged him for work done on his computer. She said she needed his credit card number to reimburse him. Approximately $435 was removed from his account that day and he canceled the card.

FEB. 2

Snowmobile complaint. Three snowmobiles reportedly ran over trees a resident had planted in the 6000 block of Warner Road. The complainant told police it happens all the time.

SCANDIA

JAN. 27

Vehicle break-in. A resident told authorities he saw two people going through parked cars in the 12000 block of Lakamaga Trail. The suspects left after the resident said he fired six shots in the air to scare them away.

WOODBURY

JAN. 25

Noise complaint. Police received and anonymous report of someone playing loud music at 6 a.m. in the 600 block of Woodduck Drive. A man in the rental unit the music was coming from agreed to turn it down.

JAN. 29

Scam report. A resident in the 3100 block of Copper Oaks Trail said he'd received a phone call from someone identifying themselves as an employee of the Internal Revenue Service and that the resident owed the IRS a lot of money and needed to call a number to deal with the urgent matter. The complainant said he knew of other people who were receiving similar calls.

JAN. 31

Theft. A snowblower was reported stolen from a garage in the 9500 block of Brookview Circle. An officer looked around in the garage and the snowblower was found next to the lawn mower.
