Animal concern. Several loose horses were reported near the railroad tracks in the area of Odegaard Avenue and 45th Street at 3:45 a.m. The owner of the horses was contacted and the animals were returned safely.

Suspicious item. A resident in the 7000 block of Jamaca Avenue called the Sheriff's Department after his dog picked up a bone he thought might've been human. It was determined the bone was from a deer.

DEC. 3

Noise complaint. An extra patrol was requested to monitor loud trucks driving in the 4000 block of Victor Path in the morning.

DEC. 6

Noise complaint. Someone in the 500 block of 149th Street reported pounding and banging from the remodeling of an apartment in their building at 3:15 a.m. The workers were contacted and explained they were on a deadline to finish the unit and were just about done.

LAKE ELMO

DEC. 2

Suspicious activity. A homeowner in the 9000 block of 55th Street reported footprints in the snow leading to and away from a basement sliding door. They were photographed and sent to the Sheriff's Department.

LAKE ST. CROIX BEACH

DEC. 1

Suspicious activity. Lights were reported on in the garage and basement of a home for sale in the 1000 block of Quello Avenue. A deputy checked the property and determined there was no criminal activity.

MAHTOMEDI

DEC. 2

Abandoned boat. A resident in the 1000 block of Park Avenue reported an abandoned boat on her beach. The complainant contacted authorities later to explain she knew the owner of the boat and it was all right for it to be on her property for now.

OAKDALE

DEC. 2

Animal complaint. An injured turkey was reported in the 3600 block of Gershwin Circle. An officer transported the bird to Oakdale Public Works, where it was dispatched.

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP

DEC. 3

Suspicious activity. Someone in the 12000 block of Boutwell Road reported an extraordinary number of vehicles in a neighbor's driveway. A deputy ran a check on several licenses of the eight or so vehicles in the driveway; they all cleared.

WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

DEC. 5

Stalled school bus. A deputy assisted with traffic control after a school bus stalled on Neal Avenue north of I-94.

WILLERNIE

DEC. 5

Neighbor complaint. A man in the 400 block of Kimberly Road reported his neighbor intentionally snowblowing rocks from his gravel driveway toward his property. The complainant's truck had a dent, although he couldn't prove it was from the blown rocks.

WOODBURY

DEC. 4

Snowplow complaint. Police responded to a report of a snowplow truck hitting a fire hydrant in the 2500 block of Mallard Drive. An officer notified street utilities and was assured it would be taken care of.
