MARCH 13

Suspicious activity. Police received a report of a man sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot in the area of Farnham Avenue and 130th Street. The complainant told police that the day before there was a woman sitting in a vehicle in the same lot. Police advised the complainant that the people in the vehicles were part of a private security operation.

Theft in progress. Two men were reported taking a ladder from a residence in the 5000 block of 148th Street. Police determined there was no criminal activity taking place: The ladder belonged to the men.

MARCH 14

Felony warrant/Flee on foot. While on patrol an officer spotted a man on a garage roof in the 5000 block of Oneka Lake Boulevard who he knew to have a warrant. The man got off the roof and ran from the residence. Police followed footprints that led back to the home. He was found inside, hiding under stairs.

MARCH 16

Snowmobile complaint. Someone in the 6000 block of 151st Street Court called police about a snowmobiler riding in a drainage ditch on their property and coming too close to children sledding nearby. Police contacted the snowmobiler, who told them he didn't realize he was on private property.

Vision obstructed/Window defrosting requirements. An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Hwy. 36 and Hadley Avenue after receiving a report that it was unable to safely switch lanes on Interstate 694 because it had snow covering its back window. The driver was advised of the complaint and given a written warning for window defrosting requirements. The back and side windows were cleared off during the traffic stop.

MARCH 18

Accident. The driver of a vehicle in the 3900 block of Granada Avenue swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle plowing a driveway and ran into a snowbank. The driver was all right but the vehicle sustained front-end damage.

Suspicious person. A woman told police her children were frightened by a young male in a dark jacket with a hood who was standing at the intersection of Melanie Trail and Meadowbrook Avenue. Police didn't find the young male but contacted the complainant who by that time had realized he was a neighbor.

MARCH 14

Suspicious activity. A woman boarding several horses in the 20000 block of Manning Trail called police because someone in a pickup truck was taking photos of her kids riding the horses. She was concerned because there had recently been horses taken in the area. She told police she would move the horses to another farm.

Harassing phone calls. The manager of Domino's Pizza, 107 Wildwood Road, told police the company had an ongoing issue with someone making harassing phone calls to their business. Police advised them to have the phone company block the calls.
