Registration is open for the Stillwater Log Run, which was previously known as Lumberjack Days Road Races and which will feature a 10-mile run and 5K race on July 20.

The 10-mile run begins near Square Lake Park. The 5K course starts near the Boom Site just north of downtown Stillwater. A toddler trot race will be run near the finish line. Races end in downtown Stillwater. "These races are a tradition for a lot of people going back 18 years," said Brian Mastel, race director.

More than 30,000 runners crossed the finish line in downtown Stillwater when this race was part of the Lumberjack Days festival. Registration, course maps and event details are available at www.stillwaterlogrun.com. Fees through July 18 are $40 for the 10 mile, $30 for the 5K and $10 for the toddler trot. Race-day registration is $50, $40 and $15 respectively and will be available on site the day of the race.

Mastel also is the race director for the Lift Bridge Road Race, which is scheduled for Oct. 20. That race will be run for the second time in 2013 and also takes place in the St. Croix Valley. That race includes 15-mile, 10-mile and 5K distances. More information on that race is at www.stillwaterliftbridgeroadrace.com.
