'The Hip Hop Nutcracker'

Want to see a different kind of sugar plum fairy this year? "The Hip Hop Nutcracker" returns to the Ordway, where it was a smashing success last year. Produced by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the show juxtaposes Tchaikovsky's beloved score with hip-hop choreography, a live DJ, an electric violinist and dancers who know how to get down. Rap forefather Kurtis Blow returns as the show's MC. (7:30 p.m. Nov. 22-23. $24-$92. Ordway Music Theater, 5th and Washington Sts., St. Paul. 651-224-4222, ordway.org.)
