An 88-year-old man from Verndale, Minn., was killed after he was thrown from his ATV on Thursday, the Wadena County Sheriff's Office said.
The Sheriff's Office responded to an ATV crash in Section 4 of Wing River Township, just 100 miles northwest of St. Cloud, about 3:09 p.m. Thursday.
William Kern had been riding his ATV east on 220th Street near the intersection of 191st Avenue when "the machine he was driving rolled over," the Sheriff's Office said.
He suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.
The crash is being investigated.
