Volunteers will search in Carver County on Saturday for Mandy Matula, the 24-year-old Eden Prairie woman missing for more than a week.

On Friday, her 21-year-old brother, Steven Matula, asked for the public's help finding his sister, who police presume is dead. "All we care about is finding Mandy," he said.

Surrounded by his sister's friends, Steven Matula said they will search in and near Victoria, where Matula's ex-boyfriend, David Roe, lived. She was last seen by her family with Roe in his vehicle outside the Matulas' home around 11 p.m. May 1. Roe fatally shot himself when called in for questioning the next day.

On Saturday, one group will start a search at 10 a.m. at Victoria Elementary School. Another, led by Kira Trevino's family and friends, will start at 11 from Bayview Elementary in Waconia. The family of Trevino, the St. Paul woman whose body was found this week, has vowed to help Matula's family.

Eden Prairie Police will also continue searching this weekend in targeted areas such as sections of the Mississippi River in Stearns County. On Friday, police released descriptions of clothing Matula could have been wearing: black Nike tennis shoes with hot pink lining and a University of Minnesota Duluth sweatshirt.
