The 1992 High School Quiz Bowl championship went down to the wire between Chaska and Breck.

The last question — "Can you name two of the five nations of the Iroquois Confederacy?" — was worth five points, and sealed the win for Chaska.

At the time, Quiz Bowl matches were broadcast on cable TV by the arts and communications magnet program at North High School in Minneapolis. About 20 students produced three shows each week, culminating in the championship game.

Although it's no longer a weekly TV show, Quiz Bowl is still going strong. Last year, the Minnesota High School Quiz Bowl League fielded 136 teams from 47 schools — including Chaska and Breck.

And in case you're curious, the answers to the 1992 winning question: Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga or Seneca.
