Vikings vs. Saints in opener seems certain

Vikings expected to learn at annual meetings whether they will open season at New Orleans

Happy Friday everyone. The owners meetings begin in Orlando on Sunday and Judd will be in place after spending some time in Florida soaking up the sun and watching a lot of spring training.

The Vikings are expected to learn at the meetings whether they will open the season on the road against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, Sept. 9. The Vikings seem like the most logical candidate for several obvious reasons, and all signs point to that happening.

UPDATE: Here was a tweet from ESPN's Adam Schefter on it: "It would be an enormous upset if the NFL's season-opening Thursday night game on Sept. 9 were not Minnesota at Saints."

There was some speculation that the Steelers possibly could be the Saints opponent in the opener, but that won't be the case. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Thursday that Steelers president Art Rooney II said his team will open the season at home because of scheduling conflicts with the Pirates.

That takes the Steelers out of the mix. Here is the link to that story.

Judd will be on top of any Vikings news and proposed rules changes from Orlando starting Sunday.
