The Vikings on-the-field activities at training camp will change under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement but fans won't see any real changes off-the-field in Mankato.

Steve LaCroix, the Vikings' chief marketing officer, said today that the organization is moving forward with its usual plans for what it provides fans during camp. The Vikings will report to Mankato on Sunday and their last practice in the city will be Aug. 11, two days before they open the preseason at Tennessee.

"We've pushed this to the absolute last minute and obviously continued to push it, push it, so it's putting our operations and some of our sales and marketing folks in full speed ahead mode even more so than normal," LaCroix said. "We'll have the Vikings village, the daily autograph zone that you've seen, the merchandise tent, the vendors, the bleachers. Everything should be pretty much from a fans perspective the same type of experience."

LaCroix said it's important to be in Mankato, both for the team and the fan base.

"It's, what?" he said, "forty-six years down in Mankato, which is the second longest streak in the league. Obviously, the university was very patient. They have a lot of heavy lifting to do as well and so they hung in there with us. It's a collaboration to try to pull it off."

Among the changes in training camp will be that teams can't have padded practices on Monday and Tuesday of this coming week and two-a-day practices will not be allowed.

LaCroix also said single-game tickets will go on sale on Aug. 3.

Asked about season tickets, he said:

"It's down but because of the unusual offseason you really can't compare apples-to-apples. It's starting to kick back in gear as far as some activity this afternoon but we're going to be very aggressive with our season-ticket base that have not responded or didn't fully commit to this year and get back in touch with them. Try to get them as close to their current seats as possible. We've sold over 2,500 new season tickets for this year, which under the circumstances I think is a good step to where I think we can build toward in the next few weeks."
