The Vikings will have the 30th pick in the first round of the NFL draft on April 22 and about the only thing that seems certain right now is they will be selecting fairly late into the night in the first prime-time draft.

Looking at predictions on various websites we see plenty of opinions about what vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman and coach Brad Childress will do with that pick.

ESPN's Mel Kiper has the Vikings taking Rutgers cornerback Devin McCourty and Todd McShay of the same network has the Vikings selecting defensive tackle Brian Price. Pro Football Weekly, meanwhile, has the Vikings going with Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson. Don Banks of Sports Illustrated has the Vikings picking defensive tackle Jared Odrick of Penn State.

There has been plenty of speculation about whether the Vikings will take a quarterback and Spielman did attend Colt McCoy's Pro Day on Wednesday. But I just don't think the Vikings are that high on this quarterback class and they aren't going to take a QB just for the sake of it. Especially, when everyone expects Brett Favre to return in 2010.
