The Vikings didn't sign Peter Warrick, but the did sign his little cousin, A.J. Love, an undrafted rookie from South Florida. Here's his college bio.
Love, who's 6-2, 205 pounds, tore an anterior cruciate ligament in South Florida's 2010 spring game and did not play that fall. He was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA and came back with just nine catches for 122 yards and a touchdown in his final season.
Before the injury, Love had his best season, catching 26 passes for 489 yards (18.8-yard average) and four touchdowns. He had 74 catches for 1,092 yards (14.8) and eight TDs for his career.
Although the Vikings need help at receiver, it's hard to project Love as anything but a potential practice squad player at this point. But, hey, the Vikings need to look at all the receivers they can. Quality receivers can pop up out of nowhere. The best current example: Wes Welker, who wasn't drafted either.
The Vikings are in Organized Training Activities today, with no media access. Vikings.com is reporting Percy Harvin and Chad Greenway are practicing, though. Jared Allen remains the lone veteran who is not participating in OTAs. There is media access tomorrow.
