The Vikings have signed rookie running back C.J. Ham.

Ham, an undrafted rookie from Augustana, participated in last weekend's rookie minicamp at Winter Park on a tryout basis. He stood out enough for the Vikings to give him a spot on their 90-man roster.

Ham, a Duluth native, rushed for 1,097 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2015, leading the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in both categories. For that, Ham was named a second-team all-conference performer.

To make room for Ham on the 90-man roster, the Vikings waived safety John Lowdermilk, who spent part of last season on the practice squad. He is the son of former Vikings center Kirk Lowdermilk.
