Vikings cornerback Shaun Prater didn't know he'd start until warmups on Sunday.

Chris Cook was scratched due to a knee injury that didn't appear on the injury report until Friday, which gave Prater his first NFL start against the team he started the season with, the Eagles.

"I've spent eight or nine weeks getting ready for just this one game," Prater said.

The Vikings picked up Prater off waivers in October, who has been used sparingly in five games up until Sunday's start when he recorded his first career interception off quarterback Nick Foles.

"It's like a pitbull locked in a cage," Prater said. "He's waiting and waiting and finally gets out. The only he's focused on is getting to that ball. I was finally getting that bone today."

Foles finished with 428 passing yards, but the secondary contained the Eagles offense for the most part in the 48-30 win.

"With this team, first off you focus on stopping the run and then you focus on stopping the deep shots," Prater said. "You do that, good things happen."

Running back LeSean McCoy had eight carries for 38 yards.

Prater returned the interception 30 yards, but he was disappointed he didn't score. It didn't stop him from flapping his wings like an eagle near his former team's sideline however.
