The Vikings announced they will report to Mankato for training camp on Thursday, July 28. Their first practice will be held the following day.

The Vikings did not reveal the rest of their training camp schedule or say when they will break camp. But camp could be shorter than usual this year.

Here's why: The Vikings open the preseason in Cincinnati on August 12 and are expected to hold joint practices with the Bengals, coach Mike Zimmer's former team, before that game. So they could opt to break camp in Mankato before flying out east a few days before the game.

The Vikings' second preseason game is August 18 in Seattle. Their final two preseason games will be played at the new U.S. Bank Stadium.

While the Vikings did not reveal many details about training camp today, they did announce that they will hold an evening practice at Minnesota State Mankato's Blakeslee Stadium on Saturday, August 6. The practice will be followed by a team introduction and fireworks.

This is the 51st straight year that the Vikings have held camp in Mankato.
