EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway has been selected for the team's Community Man of the Year award.

The Vikings made the announcement Tuesday, citing Greenway's volunteer work with several local organizations. He and his wife, Jenni, established the Lead The Way Foundation in 2009 to provide seriously ill and physically challenged children in the Twin Cities with daily support and special experiences. The Greenways have partnered for the last eight years with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board to benefit the city's youth sports programs with an annual 5-kilometer fun run on Father's Day.

This makes Greenway a finalist for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year award, to be revealed at the Super Bowl. Greenway was also named one of eight finalists for the inaugural NFL Sportsmanship Award.
