Vikings get ready for Cowboys

Two days after losing to the New York Jets, the Vikings will turn their attention to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Vikings won't have much time to dwell on their loss Monday night to the New York Jets.

After a day off, the Vikings will be back at Winter Park today preparing for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. You know, the 3:15 p.m. marquee game that will feature ... two 1-3 teams. So what happened? We'll be examining that for much of the week because the only thing that makes this game attractive right now is gawker factor.

One thing to keep in mind: The Vikings have lost cornerback Cedric Griffin (knee) for the season and there's no guarantee Chris Cook (knee) will be ready to play. That leaves the Vikings potentially shorthanded at corner. Dallas isn't very good but it does have the third-ranked passing offense (326.3 yards per game) in the NFL.

The Cowboys are ranked second over in total offense. The Vikings are fifth in total defense, including sixth (when's the last time anyone could say that) against the pass. The rushing defense, however, is an unusually low 14th.

Brad Childress and Brett Favre are scheduled to address the media today.
