vikings picks
23rd selection
SHARRIF FLOYD
Defensive tackle, Florida 6-3, 297
Pluses: A third team All-America, he is versatile enough to play all along the defensive line in college. Will add youth to the Vikings defensive line.
Minuses: NFL.com reports his long legs are a disadvantage at the position, and his speed outside the box is questionable.
Last season: First-team All-SEC as a junior. Led the Gators with 13 tackles for loss. Finished three-year career with 4½ sacks. At the NFL Combine, ran a 4.92 40-yard dash.
25th selection
XAVIER RHODES
Cornerback, Florida State
6-2, 217
Pluses: A strong cover cornerback who likes to be physical and has good size.
Minuses: Not a strong tackler. Despite strong man-to-man skills, is not as effective in zone coverage.
Last season: As a junior, was first-team All-ACC and was a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award. Finished career with eight interceptions, three forced fumbles and 140 tackles, of which 112 were solo.
29th selection
CORDARRELLE
PATTERSON
Wide receiver, Tennessee
6-3, 205
Pluses: Big, fast and physical, he has all the tools to be an elite NFL receiver. Can return kicks, and set a Vols record for most all-purpose yards in a season.
Minuses: Played only one full season at Tennessee after community college, so not as seasoned as some prospects.
Last season: Had 46 receptions for 778 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. Also rushed for 308 yards on 25 carries. Had 772 return yards and returned both a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns. Ran a 4.42 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.
