ABOUT THE BEARS (5-10)

• The Bears have lost four in a row and have been outscored 126-74 in that stretch.

•. Chicago lost to the Lions 20-14 last week, allowing 367 total yards to Detroit on an average of 5.3 yards per play.

• Quarterback Jimmy Clausen suffered a concussion last week in his first start since his rookie season in 2010. The Bears will once again start Jay Cutler, who has 24 turnovers this season.

• The Bears are 30th in total defense, allowing 381.5 yards per game, and 31st in pass defense, conceding 269.3 yards per game.

• Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery leads the team with 83 catches, 1,099 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

• Bears defensive end Willie Young was placed on injured reserve because of a torn left Achilles' tendon last week. He led the team with a career-high 10 sacks this season.

PLAYER SPEAK: RB MATT FORTE

• Forte is 10th in the NFL with 987 rushing yards and first among running backs with 785 receiving yards.

• Forte has 94 receptions this season and needs eight more to break the single-season record for receptions by a running back set by Larry Centers in 1995 (101). He also could become the second player in NFL history to finish with 1,000 rushing yards and 100 catches, joining LaDainian Tomlinson.

• On reaching 100 receptions: "It'd mean something special because only a couple of guys have done it, but at the same time I'm more looking at getting a win than any personal goals. I'm not that selfish type of player where you're looking for personal goals."

• On being an all-purpose back: "It's what I've been working since I was in college, high school, to be an all-around running back where you can catch the ball, catch screens, catch downfield passes and also be able to pick up blitzes and recognize those looks on defense."

COACH SPEAK: MARC TRESTMAN

• The 58-year-old is in his second season as Bears head coach. The St. Louis Park native is 13-18 during his tenure in Chicago.

• On his future in Chicago: "I haven't even thought about that. When you're 5-10, that's the kind of stuff that's going to go out there, and I certainly understand that and respect that. My job is to get the team ready to play on Sunday, and that's all I'm focused on doing."

• On the 5-10 season: "A very inconsistent level of play by our football team throughout the season, and we've tried to work through that the best we can. Our guys have certainly come in every day to work and put great effort into it, but the bottom line is we're 5-10 and nobody likes to be 5-10."

• On starting Cutler over rookie quarterback David Fales: "This week for this game, Jay is clearly our best choice. We've excited about David, his future and his own journey, but he certainly wouldn't be ready to step in there to start the game."
