ZIMMER HAS HOME STATE VICTORY

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer was born in Peoria, Ill., and grew up in Lockport, which is 45 minutes southwest of Chicago. But Zimmer downplayed the significance of winning a game so close to home."I'm a Viking now. I'm a Minnesotan and all that," Zimmer said. "So I don't think about that stuff anymore." One of his players, though, thinks that the win meant more than Zimmer was letting on. "Zimmer, being a Chicago native — he'd never admit it — but this one is a little more special for him," kicker Blair Walsh said.

MANO-A-MANO

Vikings CB Xavier Rhodes vs. Bears WR Alshon Jeffery

WHO WON?

Jeffery was targeted 15 times and had 10 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. Rhodes was the victim on the TD. He'll get a rematch on Dec. 20.

PLAY OF THE GAME

DIGGIN' IT

The Bears went ahead 20-13 in the fourth quarter, but the Vikings answered with an 84-yard drive to tie the score. On third-and-4 from the Bears' 40, QB Teddy Bridgewater (5) hit WR Stefon Diggs (14), who ran outside of teammate Mike Wallace (11). Diggs eluded S Sherrick McManis (27) and Wallace made a key block on CB Kyle Fuller (23) near the goal line for a touchdown.

THE QUOTE

"When [Diggs] came in to camp, we knew he was going to be special."
