The Vikings this afternoon announced that they have signed offensive tackle Sean Hickey and linebacker Jason Whittingham.
Hickey is a second-year pro who played collegiately at Syracuse, where he was a three-year starter. After going undrafted last spring, Hickey spent time with the Saints and Patriots during the 2015 season before signing a futures contract with the Jets, who released the lineman in May.
Whittingham is a rookie. After playing collegiately at Utah, the undrafted free agent had a tryout with the Raiders but was not signed.
With players set to report to Mankato tomorrow for training camp, the Vikings have one open spot remaining on their 90-man offseason roster.
