The hunt goes online
“Searching” (⋆⋆⋆, PG-13) works as a smart and fascinating thriller and as a wonderfully creative way to tell a tale. John Cho plays the distraught single dad of a teenage girl who goes missing. As he searches for clues on social media, it’s as if the viewer is seated at a computer screen next to him. Writer/director Aneesh Chaganty establishes a compelling story, spreads the clues in plain sight and brings it all together in a satisfying and tantalizing finale.
