A man who was killed earlier this month during an apparent home invasion in north Minneapolis that left three others injured has been identified as Miguel Yobani Garcia Silvestre.

The 25-year-old's body was found by police in a house on the 1200 block of 22nd Avenue N., in the city's Jordan neighborhood. Officers responded to a shots fired call at the house about 4:30 on the morning of Sept. 12, and found three people shot, according to a police spokesman. Silvestre was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another gunshot victim who apparently managed to slip out of the house after the shooting, was seen several blocks away. All three surviving victims were treated at North Memorial Medical Center with serious by noncritical injuries, police said.

Police said at the time that the shooting appeared to be drug-related.

Silvestre's death was the latest killing in a recent spike in deadly violence on the North Side. An autopsy report released Thursday revealed that he died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
