Vadnais Heights open house will mark retirement

Vadnais Heights is holding an open house for departing City Administrator Gerry Urban.

The celebration is on Jan. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. Remarks will start at 5 p.m. The event will be held at Vadnais Heights Commons, 655 East County Road F. Urban is retiring on Feb. 1 after 45 years of service.

Five possible successors are:

• Melinda Coleman, North Oaks city administrator and former assistant to Maplewood city manager.

• Michael Ericson, former Hugo city administrator and current economic development consultant in Maplewood.

• John Pechman, Chisago City administrator and former assistant to White Bear Lake city manager.

• Kevin Watson, city administrator for Junction City, Ore.; former assistant to Keiser, Ore., city manager.

• Jason Ziemer, Maple Plain city administrator and former Minnesota DNR information officer.
