Minnesota United struck on either side of the half, but a stoppage-time goal allowed Ottawa to steal a point, drawing 2-2 at TD Place.

Both clubs were patient in the opening minutes, though United had the better share of possession and attacking chances, keeping a high press on the Fury.

A corner kick set up by a deflected cross from Justin Davis presented the Loons with a chance at the 13th minute. Midfielder Ben Speas curled the ball in near the top of the penalty area, finding Jeb Brovsky as he rose to head the ball. Brovsky flicked the ball to the far post, where United's all-time leading goalscorer Christian Ramirez stood alone. Ramirez settled the ball and smashed it into the top of the net to giving Minnesota the early lead.

Ottawa began to fight back late in the half, keeping United on defense and limiting possession. A free kick in first half stoppage time was Ottawa's best chance of the half, as defender Rafael Alves curled a shot over the wall only to be stopped by a diving Sammy Ndjock.

The Fury continued the pressure in the second half with Minnesota trying to preserve its clean sheet streak. The streak came to an end at 394 minutes as a cross took a deflection off Brovsky and beat Ndjock to level the score at 1-1.

Minnesota would answer back 15 minutes later as it began to push back against the Fury. Kevin Venegas found some open space on the right side and drove the ball across the face of goal. His pass fell to the feet of Speas who was able to tuck the ball inside the far post to reclaim the lead for Minnesota. The assist was the 13th of Venegas' career, tying the all-time club record.

As both teams pressed, the match grew more physical, forcing the referee to issue four cards in the final 15 minutes.

As time wound down and United looked to claim the victory, Ottawa struck back. Attempting to keep the ball away from the Fury's Paulo Junior, United keeper Ndjock lost possession, allowing Junior to center a free pass to Marcel De Jong, who slid in to get the tying goal in stoppage time.

Minnesota tried to punch back late, but couldn't get past the Fury defense as the final whistle blew with each side taking a point.
